Central Lechera Asturiana reaffirms its commitment to the dairy sector and joins the Asturias Paraíso Natural International Cheese Festival

Cheese and cider pairings, the final of the Asturian Amateur Championship of the Authentic Asturias Cachopo (schnitzel) and the presentation of a recipe book with cheese are some of the special actions that the dairy brand will participate in.

The general manager of Capsa Food, José Armando Tellado, and the director of the Cheese Institute, Luisa Villegas, have signed an agreement through which Capsa Food will participate as a preferred partner in the Asturias Paraíso Natural International Cheese Festival, to be held in Oviedo in November. At the signing ceremony, they were accompanied by Begoña López, General Manager of the Asturias Principality Rural Development and Agrarian Industries, as the main sponsor, and by the Mayor of Oviedo, Alfredo Canteli.

Signing this agreement reaffirms Capsa Food’s commitment to the dairy sector and to Asturias. In the words of its CEO, José Armando Tellado, “Capsa’s participation in this important global event was essential because of our support for the land of origin in which our company operates and because of our commitment to the cheese market. It is a unique opportunity that we should not miss because several of our cheeses have also been awarded in other editions with the World Cheese Awards that will be awarded at this festival.

Luisa Villegas commented “It is very important to have in an international event of these characteristics with involvement from companies that contribute to structuring the primary sector; as is the case of Central Lechera Asturiana, where Asturias farmers are part of such an important cooperative company.

Regarding the brand’s activity, Central Lechera Asturiana will have a prominent presence in the festival’s different activities. Within the “Cheese market”, Central Lechera Asturiana will be present with the Cabrales-Cueva del Molín PDO and will have a double stand in the main hall where it will display its varieties and specialised products, such as its sliced and bar cheeses and Master Cheesemakers selection. Of course, the Central Lechera Asturiana Flor de Burgos range of products, launched on the market at the end of 2020, will also be there.

And within this festival, the final of the second edition of the Authentic Asturian Cachopo Amateur Championship will also take place on 6 November and the “Recipes with Cheese” book, prepared by different leading chefs of Asturias, will be presented.
