From Monday 23 to Sunday 29 September, Capsa Food will host the 4th Health, Safety and Well-being Week with which the company has been promoting its philosophy to employees for years that good nutrition is key to maintaining health, as part of a healthy lifestyle, and positively influences people’s well-being.
During the week, employees can participate in various activities: Yoga, smoking cessation, stroke prevention campaign, glaucoma prevention campaign, happiness workshop, stress test and blood donation. On the weekend, the dairy company invites employees to participate with their family and friends.
On Saturday 28th, one of the main days of the week’s activities, the day will begin with a Healthy Breakfast and a healthy eating workshop entitled “How to read a label”. Afterwards, children and adults can participate in Road Safety activities, adapted by age: road safety circuit, driving simulators, augmented reality glasses, etc. At 12:00, the Fun Run will begin. First the children will take off, who will run along the Healthy Trail that CAPSA has designated in its Granda facilities, and then the adults will run a 3.3 km circuit through the work centre.
This initiative has a triple social purpose. The proceeds from entry registrations will be donated to the Asociación Freno al Ictus (Stroke Prevention Association) and the number of kilometres of the race run, as well as those of the hiking route planned for Sunday, will be converted into litres of milk that will be donated to the “Ningún niño sin cenar” (No Child Without Dinner) association.
The Health, Safety and Well-being Week will end on Sunday with a walking outing for families
Promoting knowledge about good nutrition and the importance of physical activity as fundamental elements for healthier people is one of the major focal points of Capsa’s Corporate Social Responsibility plan, through which employees and their families are offered the opportunity to acquire and maintain healthy habits outside of and within the work environment. Within the Exemplary Employer framework, the company works on four areas that impact health and well-being: healthy eating, health programmes, emotional well-being and physical activity.
CAPSA FOOD is the first company in the Spanish dairy sector to achieve the AENOR Healthy Company certificate, which accredits a healthy work environment that fosters work/life balance, equality, improved healthy eating habits and physical activity within and outside of the company. It also won the NAOS award three times, awarded by the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition, for its “commitment to healthy and natural food”, and in 2015 it obtained the Top Employers award and the Fade Human Resources Management award, among others.
