Ethical and transparent government

Sustainable Development Goals

Ethics and compliance at the heart of our decisions.

CAPSA FOOD has always been firmly committed to integrating all stakeholders’ expectations: consumers, customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, public and social institutions, unions and society in general, into its business so that it can reconcile interests that don’t always coincide.

Proof of this is the signing and publishing of our Code of Ethics in 2015, which underpins our ongoing desire to improve; it the starting point and integrating element of the previous Crime Prevention and Detection Model to ensure that the whole company behaves in its internal and external relations in accordance with society’s ethical expectations.

However, we conducted an in-depth revision of our previous model as the result of the evolution of legislation (Organic Law 1/2015, of 30 March, amending the Criminal Code Organic Law 10/1995, of 23 November), and even more important the interpretations by jurisprudence and by the judicial authorities in light in the new cases that have been brought, together with the codifier and compiler work of entities such as the Spanish Standardisation Association through its UNE standards. We now have our Criminal Compliance Management System (CCMS) that will ensure a more uniform and standardised structuring of all the risks and controls affecting criminal compliance within our company processes.

As per UNE 19.601:2017, standard, the CCMS has due diligence procedures in the main processes of the company, such as those related to the financial, commercial and sales, purchases and suppliers’ areas, along with human resources; these have bolstered the existing controls and manage the risk level of each of our operations from a more operational perspective right from the start.

We have updated our Code of Ethics to shore up the operability of all those procedures; the Code is available for all our stakeholders for their knowledge and dissemination.

We have approved a Business Partner Code of Conduct, which seeks to reflect and preserve the high standards of conduct that have been and are part of our culture and way of business; that is even more so when business is carried out on both the national and international markets, and with the influence of different cultural environments that require transparent patterns and compliance of what is set out in different legislation, guaranteeing competitiveness and fair play on the market.
